Our house is situated in the region  „Terrassenmosel“ – an attractive starting point for you journey between Koblenz and Cochem. As wine trip, active holiday or a short break – everyone finds here exciting possibilities.

Walking, biking and water sport
Who would like to be active can walk over the mountaintops or through the valleys or the UNESCO world heritage; the Middle Rhine. For those people who do not fear of heights there is the walking path over the steepest wine mountains of Europe – the Bremer Calmont. For people with passion for cycling we have many panoramic tours along the shore of the Mosel canal or mountain bike trips over the hills and through the valley. There is something for everybody.

Castles and old villages
In the near vicinity you will find Germanys most romantic castle: Burg Eltz, but also many other castles and ruins are waiting to be discovered. For instance the Nieder- und Oberburg in Kobern , Burg Thurandt in Alken or the Ehrenburg . Also villages with many old half-timbered houses like Alken, Beilstein, Cochem or Winningen are attractive destinations in the surroundings.

Let the day come to an end in a few lovely hours in our restaurant – enjoy the view at the castle Wasserburg and wine mountains, just opposite us. Our menu combines regional dishes with international influences. In our wine cellar we mostly have regional wines – about 70 different kind of wines are waiting to be consumed. We permanently work at the choice of wines and we will be glad to inform you.

Our house has 14 double rooms, 8 with view at the Mosel canal and the castle “Wasserburg von der Leyen” . The rate per night stay including breakfast is between 55 and 70 euro per room, depending on the season and kind of room. We gladly offer you half board like a 3 course menu at extra charge. We will be glad to help you plan your holiday and make you an individual proposal.
